This initiative, sponsored by National Women in Roofing (NWIR) and S-5!, the global leader of metal roof attachments, is dedicated to empowering women pursuing educational opportunities in the skilled trades. Our goal is to support your journey towards a successful career and contribute to the advancement of the construction industry.
The NWIR & S-5! Scholarship aims to identify individuals who align with our collective vision and support their educational and professional aspirations.

What is the Scholarship?
- $2500 to apply to the trade school of your choice
- 1-year membership with NWIR (valued at $125)
- Career mentor appointed by NWIR
Who is Eligible?
To qualify for the NWIR & S-5! Scholarship, applicants must:
- This scholarship is available exclusively to female individuals who are either currently employed in the roofing industry or have a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in roofing.
- Be a United States citizen of reputable character.
- Be accepted to a trade school and provide proof of trade school acceptance or enrollment.
- Provide two written recommendations from a high school counselor/administrator, teacher, supervisor or mentor who has closely observed their work, volunteer or school-related activities related to the trades and can attest to the applicant's achievement and potential.
- Complete a scholarship application and a brief essay.
- Attend two Zoom meetings during the scholarship year to report on progress and maintain regular communication with NWIR.
How Do You Submit Your Application?
Please email your completed application, current transcript (if applicable) and any supporting documents to kreichert@s-5.com. Submit your application by December 1, 2024.
